A YIN »SCHOOLS | NOMADIC MONGOLIANS OF CHINA« – selected by RONG JIANG

»This photo book is rhythmically divided into four parts, covering the photographer’s works of two decades. The effect created is one of moving forward from the schools attended by nomadic Mongolian children in China at village level to those at township level, and on to the schools run by private teachers and then to those in urban areas. The first three parts present only black-and-white photos, while the last part has black-and-white photos taken in 1990s side by side with color photos taken since 2000. It thus shows the dramatic changes in the education system for those nomadic children. The design of the book is simple and elegant, well-suited to its contents. Overall, it is a very well edited and designed book.«
