»This book looks brilliant; primarily because of the latent novelty of these photographs. I can think of many Iranian or non-Iranian photographers who have traveled to different cities in Iran to portray the beauty of that country’s architecture and history, but Niedermayer’s work is not like theirs. I do not mean to suggest that the work of the other photographers has not been successful in its way. Not at all. But in a way these specific photographs from Iran work like Niedermayr’s self-portraits. Due to their unique aesthetics, the familiar places in these photographs look so different that they seem fresh even to my eyes, as an Iranian who is pretty familiar with these locations. Walter Niedermayr has masterfully portrayed the simplest beauties of the complex country of Iran; the beauties that usually get lost in the chaos of the conf licting news and media games around this country.«
